Our Weekend in St. Louis

One of the best things about being back in Kansas City is how easy it is to visit my family in St. Louis. My dad was recently diagnosed with an aggressive form of bladder cancer making it even more important for us to be close. On Monday, he underwent his 4th, but most intense surgery so we spent the weekend leading up to his surgery in St. Louis getting in as much quality time as possible.

On Friday, went to Grant's Farm, a historic farm, and interactive petting zoo. I hadn't been since I was a kid so I really didn't remember much about it, but Lela loooves animals so I knew we'd have a great time! Entrance to the zoo is free, but you can buy a "fun pass" for $6 which gets you a carousel ride, a snow cone, and 2 baby goat bottles. The fun starts off with a 20-minute guided tram ride where you learn about the park's history and see everything from Buffalo to Longhorns. After the tram drops you off is where the real fun begins! You can feed everything from baby goats to parakeets to camels. Watching Lela interact with animals is always so special, but it was made even more so since both of my parents were there to share in the fun.
On Saturday, we spent the day at my Dad's house and went to his subdivision pool, the same pool that I took swimming lessons in as a kid! Lela is such a water baby, so I knew my Dad would enjoy watching her splash her around (and eat snacks because of course).

I hope everyone had a great weekend as well! I'd love to hear what you were up to!
